Understanding 'Moral Codes--Belief--Values'
DAY 1: Blog
The day
started with the word "moral code" which means beliefs, principles
imposed by the society, religion, social group etc. on its members, followed by
the concept "Beliefs" whose territory is not limited to the religion
or God. The world views' of an individual is discussed by the story of a frog
whose perception got expanded as his position gets changed to river and to sea
from the well.
The values of an individual and so
of the ActionAid is synergized at some point
like mutual respect, equity and justice etc. whereas at some point,
divergence is also seen like individual values focus on secrecy whereas
organizational value says transparency etc.
What is HRBA is explained by the
story of a village where lower caste like Dalit and so called higher caste were
residing with the feelings of untouchability over the Dalit. The village has
drinking water problem which can be sort out by constructing two tap, one for
each group but this is not human rights based approach to development as such
development ignore the human rights of equity. HRBA approach says construction
of one tap for every caste people as it will protects the human rights to stay
equally and just human relationship.
The activities by the society
people follow a pattern, termed as the society structure. The patterns are
followed by the people, hence if any individual offences or discriminates, is
following the pattern. Hence a major part is understood, an offence of an
individual or the any state is not is sole role but the role of society as
whole.
The diversity and
inequality is two different things. Diversity among people is natural like skin
color, body structure etc, but inequality is defined and created by the society
and people like discrimination etc.
